Asylum Seekers Centre

Volunteers play a crucial and central role in the delivery of ASC services, with a dedicated network of about 80 individuals performing myriad roles, including:

• teaching English, yoga, exercise and creative expression classes

• managing reception

• preparing lunches and providing breakfast ingredients

• providing on- and off-site health care, including general practice physiotherapy, massage, dentistry and counseling

• assisting clients who are permitted to work with job-seeking organising excursions and centre-based events

• providing IT support

• photographing our activities

• designing our annual calendar

• organising Quiz Night (our major annual fundraising event) and assisting with our end of year party

• providing a range of other pro bono professional services
