The Hope Dinner: From Iraq with love.
Asylum seekers and refugees: favourites from their homelands, made with love. Saturday February 25th Parliament on King, from 6pm.
On Saturday February 25th we invite you join us for a traditional Iraqi family dinner, made by ‘V’ (pictured) and her family, just the way they make it at home, with love and pride.
“V” and her family are amazing in the kitchen, the food will be beautiful, authentic and there will be vegetarian and vegan dishes too – it will be a happy thing and children are welcome.
On the night there will also be some spoken word where you’ll hear real stories of hope, courage and endurance from asylum seekers and refugees about their journey and experiences in their new homeland – presented by WWM Poetry.
The nights are about community and building bridges of friendship and understanding, and all are welcome. We’re stronger together.
The dinners are run in support of the training programs and the social enterprise at Parliament on King and are made possible by a matching grant from the City of Sydney – thank you City of Sydney.
Bookings are essential and there are 2 sittings:
1. First seating is at 6pm
2. Second seating is at 7.30pm
We encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment. And for $25 per person for a 3 course home style, traditional meal – made lovingly by our asylum seeker and refugee friends, it may book quickly.

Let us cater for you!
We offer social enterprise catering provided by asylum seekers and refugees, in partnership with local Australians.
Our mission is simple: to make lovely food. But in doing this we provide hope and opportunity to asylum seekers, refugees and recent arrivals to Australia.
Proceeds from our catering are used to support the training and projects we run for asylum seekers, refugees and recent arrivals in our little café.
