COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS
Restrictions in NSW eased from November 8th. Find the most recent updates about restrictions here.

Restrictions will ease further when NSW reaches the target of either 95% double vaccinations or on 15 December, whichever is first.

COVID – 19 VACCINATION BOOSTER VACCINATION

Booster vaccinations are available to people who are double vaccinated. Find out more about the booster vaccination here.

You don’t need a Medicare card
If you don’t have a current Medicare card, or are not eligible for Medicare, you can still get a COVID-19 vaccine. Check here. Find out more about vaccination in lots of languages.

Proof of Vaccination
Many places in NSW require you to Check In with the QR code and provide proof of your double Covid-19 vaccination to enter.

If you are having trouble getting this proof, phone the ASC on 02 9078 1900 and ask for an appointment to get help with proof of vaccination. Someone will then call you to help.

SCAMS

The Australian government has issued an alert about COVID 19 vaccination benefit scams. For further information check here.

You do not need to pay any money for proof of your vaccination. If you have been asked to pay for proof of vaccination or sent an SMS you are concerned about contact the Asylum Seekers Centre for further help PH: 02 90781900.

TENANCY SUPPORT PAYMENT
The NSW Government is providing a Residential Tenancy Support Payment of up to $4,500 to landlords to help renters who have been affected by COVID 19 to meet rent payments. Find out more information from Department of Fair Trading here. Your landlord must make the application. If you need more information about the payment call the ASC on 9078 1900 and ask to speak to a centre support volunteer.

COVID-19 TEST AND ISOLATE PAYMENT
If you need to self-isolate and are unable to work while waiting for your COVID-19 test result, you may be eligible for a one-off NSW government payment of $320. Check the eligibility criteria here. Apply through the Service NSW website.

COVID 19 AND THE LAW

Free legal assistance is available if you are facing a police or legal issue under the COVID-19 public health laws. This could include fines or charges related to a public health order. Legal Aid NSW has information in English about COVID -19 legal issues here.
