SWEAT IT OUT!

29 Jul, 2019

Once a year, there is a unique opportunity to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge without any cars in sight. Of course we are talking about the Blackmores’ Sydney Running Festival (BSRF) and for the third year in a row, ASC is an official charity partner! Join us on Sunday 15 September to help raise funds for ASC and create awareness of the challenges that face people seeking asylum in Australia.

Whether you’re a seasoned marathon runner looking to improve your PB or prefer to just take a casual walk on a Sunday, don’t sweat it – there’s something for everyone:

  • Blackmores’ Sydney Marathon (42.195 km)
  • Blackmores’ Half Marathon (21.0975 km)
  • Blackmores’ Bridge Run (10 km)
  • Blackmores’ Family Fun Run (3.5 km)

Last year 31 fantastic runners raised an incredible $32,725.82 for ASC. As the number of people accessing our services is ever growing, so is our need for financial support. Currently ASC is providing services to over 4,000 people seeking asylum. With this in mind, we hope to top last year’s result – but we cannot do this without your help!

How to sign up: Signing up and creating a fundraising page is easy – just follow this link and select Asylum Seekers Centre as your chosen charity. Share your fundraising page with family, friends and colleagues so they can show their support and motivate you even more to cross the finish line.

Once you have signed up and started fundraising, our Fundraising Coordinator will be in touch to hook you up with ASC running gear. If you’d like more information or need a hand setting up your fundraising page, please contact fundraising@asylumseekerscentre.org.au. We are happy to help!

Help us spread the word: Feel free to share this email with family, friends, colleagues, or anyone who may enjoy participating and supporting people seeking asylum by raising funds for ASC.

PS: Can’t make it to the BSRF, but keen to participate in one of many other beautiful Sydney runs and raise money for ASC? Check out the ASC website or contact fundraising@asylumseekerscentre.org.au.
