What are the changes?

The Government has announced changes that will affect many people with temporary protection visas.

People who hold a Temporary Protection Visa or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (TPV or SHEV) will now be eligible to apply for a permanent visa, Resolution of Status Visa (Subclass 851) from 14 February 2023 onwards.

Current applications to renew expired TPVs or SHEVs will automatically be converted to ROS visa applications. Those still waiting for a decision will be granted a RoS Visa once their need for refugee protection is determined.

You should get advice on your own situation from a legal provider.
